Finally! ROCK WERCHTER 2010, our first cross-platform mobile application
The mobile device market has changed dramatically over the past 2 years
thanks to the efforts of innovators like Apple and other mobile device
companies. The devices get smarter every day and mobile applications are
becoming more and more important in our daily routine. We use them to
communicate, we use them for work, we even use them for pleasure. They
are becoming little extensions of our lives.
Therefore Rock
Werchter collaborated with partners Proximus, Zanzibar and Appstrakt (aww yeah!) to develop a kick-ass (remember Bruce Lee?) cross-platform mobile application to support their amazing festival.
Supported platforms are iPhone, iPod Touch, Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and other devices that support JAVA applications. To give you some numbers: the application is available on 1.400 devices, with a staggering 80% current market coverage (source: getjar.com).
Some of the features of the
application include: Facebook & Twitter integration, multiple ways
to consult the line-up, detailed artist information, detailed
interactive map of the festival ground. iPhone owners even have the
ability to see their current location on the festivals map, thanks to
the built-in GPS of their device.
For more information, you can consult our Pressdoc, or click here if you want to download and install the application on your mobile device.
We just released the Reverze 2010 iPhone app.
The Reverze application allows users to easily browse trough the
line-up and receive detailed information on every artist performing
during the event. Once the application is downloaded, users are
up-to-date with the latest Reverze news thanks to the built-in Reverze
Facebook stream. The integration with Facebook Connect also allows
users to like, post comments and even share their list of favorite
artists on their own Facebook profile page.
But there is more: Each video uploaded on the Reverze youtube channel is directly
pulled into the iPhone application, giving users loads of video content
to enjoy.
The fact that all downloaded data is stored on the
device really comes in handy. It gives you the ability to enjoy the app
even when there is no internet connection available.
On the day of the event (20/02/10), attendees can use the What's on feature to see who's currently playing.
The
application is built upon our popular framework Crowdsurfer.
This framework has already been used by other well known music events
& festivals like Laundry Day and I Love Techno. It gives event
organisers the opportunity to easily build a mobile application for
their attendees to enhance the event experience. The crowdsurfer
framework has been developed not only for iPhone but for other mobile
platforms as well. Event related applications will therefore soon be
available on other smartphones.
Update mijnTVgids adds program notifications.
The new version of mijnTVgids (version 1.5.1) is now available! We've heard your suggestions and we're pleased to announce that the 4 most requested features made it to the new release.
This big update adds the following features:
- Set reminders for programs you don't want to miss (uses the iPhone push-functionality)
- There's now an extra page called "Favorites". You can mark a program as favorite in order to get a clean overview of what you don't want to miss the coming days.
- Managing your channel list is now much easier. Channels are grouped and it's now possible to select/deselect multiple channels at once
- The synchronization process is now twice as fast (and we keep making improvements!)
